The method, applied to pages you can go and read.

SENATORE has no clients yet, so this page does not pretend to have results. What it has is judgement, and judgement can be shown: below are real public pages, read on the dated day stated on each, with the editorial reasoning written out.

How to read this page. Quotation is short and for criticism. Each page belongs to its owner, no relationship between SENATORE and the sites shown is implied, and none of them has been engaged or asked for approval.

Client results will appear on this page as engagements complete — named, with permission, at the client's discretion. Nothing will appear here before that happens.

Slack · Features

Slack is where work happens.

Quoted from the page’s own visible copy. Short quotation for criticism.

One claim, and the whole page becomes its evidence.

What the writing does

  • The headline makes a claim you could disagree with. Everything under it, from channel summaries to huddle notes to enterprise search, is arranged as evidence for that one claim rather than as a list of features.
  • The test this passes is the one most product pages fail: you can delete the logo and still know which company wrote it, because the sentence is a position and not a category description.

What we would do instead

  • We would keep the assertion and show the work it does: which sentence a visitor repeats to a colleague after thirty seconds on the page. Then we would cut every line that does not serve it.

Get comprehensive AI services and state-of-the-art generative AI innovations on our data platform and in our cloud applications—all on a best-in-class AI infrastructure.

Quoted from the page’s own visible copy. Short quotation for criticism.

Four abstractions, no mechanism, and a superlative doing the work of a fact.

What the writing does

  • The opening sentence is 27 words of category nouns. “Comprehensive” sits beside two near-identical boast-words, and none of the three can be checked by the reader.
  • The move this sentence makes is the one an editorial pass exists to refuse: it describes the vendor's own confidence instead of the reader's situation.

What we would do instead

  • We would ask which customer, what they were running before, and what changed. A usable opening would name one of those: the migration nobody wants to re-plan, the processor nobody can hire for, the invoice queue that no longer needs a person.

Marketing Software

Quoted from the page’s own visible h1 — the whole of it. Short quotation for criticism.

Two words, and they name the category and stop. A rival could publish the same headline tomorrow.

What the writing does

  • The visible headline is the product category and nothing else. It cannot be disagreed with, which is exactly the problem: a headline nobody can disagree with tells the reader nothing about whether this page is for them.
  • That meta description quoted above is the same move in longer form: the same three verbs, with no reader anywhere in it.
  • Under both, the page lists what the product contains. What it never states is what the reader is doing today without it, which is the one thing a competitor's page cannot copy.

What we would do instead

  • We would keep one of the three verbs, choose the one this product actually wins on, and put the proof immediately underneath it. Two words of headline are not the fault; two words that say nothing a competitor could not say are.

The demonstration pieces on the work page are written by Senatore as illustrations and are labelled as such. They are not client work either, and the page says so on every one of them.
