Books & Long-Form

A book is a long engagement, and it is priced like one.

Manuscripts are the studio's high-touch work. They take months, they depend on your availability as much as ours, and the scope is agreed in writing before anything starts.

Who it is for

  • founders and executives who have been meaning to write the book for several years
  • specialists with a body of work that already exists as talks, notes and teaching
  • people with a family or business history that only they can describe

The problem

Most unwritten books are not blocked by writing ability. They are blocked because nobody has decided what the book argues, and an undecided book cannot be drafted.

What we do about it

  • We run a structured interview series first, which is also how we find out whether there is a book or a long article.
  • We build the structure and the through-line, and get your agreement before drafting.
  • We develop it chapter by chapter, in a rhythm you can live with alongside your work.
  • We revise to a finished manuscript, and support the proposal if you are going to publishers rather than publishing it yourself.

What this covers

  • memoirs
  • founder books
  • business books
  • long-form manuscripts
  • book proposals
  • structural editing

What you receive

  • An interview series with transcripts, kept for the whole engagement
  • An agreed structure and chapter outline before drafting begins
  • Chapter drafts and revisions to a complete manuscript
  • Proposal support where the book is going to publishers
Pricing. From $6,500 for a short book or memoir commissioned on a defined scope. Longer or heavily researched manuscripts cost more, and final pricing depends on manuscript scope — we quote after the structure conversation, not before it.

The process

How a piece gets made.

  1. Brief

We learn the business, the audience, the subject and the objective. You tell us what the piece has to achieve before we discuss what it should say.

  2. Interview

When the expertise lives inside the company, we extract it through conversation. The recording and the transcript stay with the engagement.

  3. Research

We verify claims, research sources and build the argument. Anything that cannot be sourced gets flagged, and then either sourced or cut.

  4. Draft

We write the article, the copy or the ghostwritten piece, against the structure you approved rather than against a blank page.

  5. Editorial pass

We tighten structure, language, evidence and voice. Every substantive cut is explained, so you can disagree with the reasoning.

  6. Approval

The client reviews the final piece. Nothing is published anywhere under your name without your written approval.

  7. Publish

The finished work goes to your website, publication, newsletter or byline, ready to use as delivered.

What an editorial pass changes

Demonstration

Before — demonstration

In today's rapidly evolving threat landscape, organisations of all sizes face an unprecedented array of challenges when it comes to protecting their sensitive data. Our cutting-edge, best-in-class solution leverages industry-leading technology to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end approach that empowers businesses to stay ahead of the curve.

After — demonstration

Most credential-theft breaches do not begin with a clever attack. They begin with a password that one person reuses across a work account and a personal one, and a login page that never asks for a second factor. The attacker does not need to break your defences; they need to find the one door your own rules left open.

That is why the useful question is not how strong is our security stack but which accounts can be reached with a password alone. Answer that and you have a list you can work through in a week.

What changed, and why

  • A clearer argument: the second version makes one claim and supports it
  • A stronger opening: a concrete situation instead of a category announcement
  • Evidence where it belongs: the mechanism replaces the adjective
  • Better rhythm: sentence lengths vary because the thought does, not for effect
  • Less generic language: no phrase could survive being moved to another vendor's site
  • A stronger conclusion: it leaves the reader with an action, not an impression
Demonstration material. SENATORE has not published these pieces for a client. They are written to show the difference an editorial pass makes, and are labelled DEMONSTRATION wherever they appear. No client, result or testimonial is being claimed. Genuine examples will replace them as engagements permit publication.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does a book take?

Typically several months, and the schedule depends heavily on how often you are available for interviews and how quickly you return chapter approvals. We will not fix a delivery date before we know both.

Will my name be on it?

That is the point of ghostwriting. SENATORE drafts material published under the client's name according to the agreed engagement. Whether we are credited is a clause in the agreement, and the default is that we are not.

Can you help find a publisher?

We can write the proposal and the sample chapters to the standard agents expect, and we can advise on the process. We are not an agency and we do not represent you to publishers — anyone claiming otherwise should be checked.

What if I run out of time halfway through?

Tell us as early as possible. Stopping a manuscript is normal. The agreement will state what is owed at each milestone, so an interrupted book does not become an argument about the whole fee.

Have you been meaning to write it for years?

Start with the structure conversation. If there is no book in it, we will say so and you will have lost an hour.
